in my personal experience (and remember this is all just my personal tastes and they might vary from how other people like their nasty) there are big differences between whether you write smut for the sole sake of smut aka to write something to get off to, or whether you write smut for showing characters getting close or something. the difference isn’t always there, sometimes people manage to do both at the same time spectacularly, but often you need to be aware of what you want to do since your diction might change for one or the other.
but ok.
specific m/m tips would probably be that you should be aware of the pesky ‘one-two-three-fingers-dick’. don’t do that, it’s not very sexy and rarely realistic. I for one don’t like writing preparation at all because it’s either always the same and boring, or because it doesn’t fit into the pace of the story I’m writing.
However, why not try writing very extensive, sexy preparation?
also be aware of your characters’ general disposition. remember that they are (often times) grown men. They shouldn’t react to certain things like teen girls, which pulls me out of the immersion most of the time and makes me back paddle out of a story real fast^^
in that vein! when you’re done writing your smut, go over it again and take note of how often your characters moan/sigh/scream and when they start doing it. build up to them being vocal and lewd. don’t have them moan out loud the second they have a hand on their dick/puss
try playing around with mentioning body fluids/body hair/chub/odor. sexy times are nasty that way ❤
try not to describe too much where they place what limb where.
don’t let their orgasm be mean and punch them or hit them 😦
don’t force yourself to write the sexy times! if you’re not feeling it, just let it rest for the moment or try something else
