unintentional (not really happening) rat gore under the cut. no rats are harmed, just my brain playing tricks on me

so twice in the last 10 mins the rats trolled me by sitting absolutely still and half hidden with their tails just lying on the ground or hanging down and my brain was *convinced* for a second that they just ripped their tails off and they were just detached.
