Go to File->Page set up!

that does help, but it would have been only the page itself and the surrounding would still have been so white x.x BUT

me kigu wifey @robotfvckers recommended the stylish add-on for chrome, and there are gouda gouda choices to make gdocs dark.

but thanks anyway, I did def not think of that
