Also maybe the idea that Zen has to be kept in captivity for a while because they know they can get more money for him if he has hair. Cue sad Zen as his hair starts to grow in and it covers the top row of his jieba. :<

Perhaps they go around to important buyers and Genji happens to see him when he’s on meetings with his father. 

Also a cute trope where maybe if a mermaid kisses you you can understand them. Need me that didney shit. Also Zen singing once when he’s happy and Genji stumbling in and accidentally getting entraced hahaha.
