What’s so problematic about cis-swap? Genuine question, not trying to Start Something.

I don’t know to be honest… like I personally have no problem with it (other than when there are delicious female chars there and people only make the swap so their OMG FOREVER OTP can be together) but I feel like on my periphery I heard that it’s problematic… though I couldn’t tell you why D: I just stayed clear from it

I also never quite felt the need to do it?  but in that particular scenario because of the incest angle I don’t see another solution short of coming up with a Shimada sister and I don’t like putting OCs into already existing franchises
