I kinda liked it but was also super annoyed with it because people that have not read the books probably had no idea what was going on the whole goddamn time.

There were no real explanations for anything. The characterizations were super lacking. I, as someone who loves loves loves the books, was kinda okay with it because I knew those characters. But someone who doesn’t know them doesn’t give a shit about them as they were represented in the movie and I can’t fault them.

Just… a super confusing mess where the real importance of why Roland is so hellbent on killing Walter doesn’t come out. The explanation given in the movie (absolutely artificially invented btw… not at all the reason from the books) is not really convincing. It’s p shallow/a super boring movie trope.

A lot of the changes they made I couldn’t understand… like why they totally changed up Jake’s backstory when the original one was so very compelling.

I do like Idris Elba a whole lot tho, so… :((((
