Different anon, but I like the dragon cuckolding idea because I figure Hanzo’s dragons are just 100% done with Hanzo’s tsundere waffling over his feelings (sexual or otherwise) for the cowboy so they plot an ‘intervention’. Yeah, I get that about the discipline having to be negotiated, and to me it’s because being punished for not following a rule that wasn’t explicitly stated just seems unfair, and as a sub myself that would turn me right off. I read a fic once where the sun was genuinely upset about something and snapped at their dom because of it and the dom responded by acknowledging that they had a right to be upset but then punishing them anyways even though they weren’t in a good state of mind, which… bleh

yes I absolutely understand what you mean. 

obviously everybody has a right to their own personal tastes and I would never say anybody is wrong for enjoying one trope or the other. (I have my guilty pleasures as well).

However, I personally, like the controlling aspect in D/s relationships. Negotiated rules that are to be followed by both parties; the sub feeling safe due to the rules clearly set-up; knowing exactly what will happen if they do this over that.

So I know you don’t think punishments are hot, but what about ‘punishments’? Like the dom pretends to be disappointed but they kinda obviously aren’t really and the ‘punishment’ is something they both really enjoy, so it’s more like role playing than actual discipline

I don’t like the word punishment. it sounds very mean and violent and that should not be the case in a D/s relationship; but I know that is just a quirk of mine.

I like subs being disciplined that’s not the problem; I just want that discipline to be something that makes sense. So if they have never before talked about .. I dunno… that the sub is not supposed to talk to other men when they’re outside for dinner or something. they have to have talked about that beforehand so the sub knows he’s transgressing willingly.

I’m not into scenarios where they never tried any D/s and then they get into a situation and the sub gets disciplined for an action they hadn’t even negotiated was against the rules. it’s just not sexy to me. I can’t put the finger on why : / I guess I like it when the rule breaking has been deliberate and the sub is hankering for some discipline, or does it because he’s unhappy with something
