Being an Alpha was not at the top of Gabriel’s list of things he wanted to be when he grew up. In fact, he would have rather been a Beta and forgone the whole heat, rut, knotting thing all together. Instead, at the ripe age of 23, he hit his first rut in the middle of the soldier enhancement program and promptly hated his life.

It was, of course easy for him to be secluded until the ramped hormones subsided and he didn’t want to fuck everything within a mile radius. However, he spent most of that time with his head in his hands, hating that this was what he would spend the rest of his life dealing with.

He couldn’t be an alpha. He didn’t know how to be one.
