it’s upsetting me more lately that even though I know the difference, they’re forbidding me from enjoying/sharing/LOOKING at their content, that’s not how fandom works…
I think what irks me the most is that it is a weird way to show that they are not shippers of that particular ship. it is like a straight dude coming with his gay friend into a gay club and having to aggressively make jokes/remarks about how very straight he is to make sure nobody would mistake him otherwise when in reality those other gay man can feel out whether you are looking for advances or no. They are not fucking stupid and trying to climb any man they see.
furthermore, I’m p sure it is those people that write the very weird sibling relationships in fic where Genji tries aggressively to get Hanzo laid/asks him about his conquests and stuff and it gets me uncomfortable because that is not how non-fictional, non-incesty sibling relationships work?
like my bro and I are reasonably close and when he’s not in a relationship he will tell me funny/odd stuff of his past relationships… but I am neither asking for those details, nor am I going out to try and find him ladies or get him laid, and vice versa.
like they have a very skewered interpretation of how siblings work and maybe that’s why they don’t like shimadacest/can’t tell the difference between reality and fiction.
