so every time around Halloween people in the USA start freaking out about these ‘Pumpkin spice’ beverages and I’m like ‘hoooly shit what is this elusive flavor it must be the grandmaster of all flavors everybody is so hot for it’

because we have a Starbucks were I live (I think) but I don’t frequent it because shit is expensive and I don’t like coffee. but anyway.

so I saw a vid about pumpkin spice cookies and I was like

YES. FINALLY MY TIME HAS COME.

and now I eat them and I’m so dejected because they’re simply Christmas flavored? like this typical Christmas spice aroma… the word eludes me for now but

it’s definitely nothing to do with pumpkins

I was v much cheated

I was also so disappointed to find this out!

The USA loves October so much and everyone makes a big fuss about pumpkin spice. I live in Australia, where fall/autumn is barely a thing and pumpkin spice even less so.

I always imagined that pumpkin spice would somehow taste like pumpkin, but then I was told that it’s basically just the spices used in pumpkin pie, so like nutmeg and cinnamon with a bit of clove and ginger, which are nice enough but a very simple and everday spice mix.

The mysticism is dead

I feel like I lost a part of my innocence tbh

thank you America
