I feel you. I also got a lot of ideas which I think are really great and get so frustrated when I can’t write them the way I want them to be. There are a few things I do to try and combat that but if nothing helps you’ll just have to cut your losses I’m afraid. I know it’s frustrating and stupid but you can’t *force* it, y’know?

so my first tip is: don’t force it. a lot of people will tell you that you’ll just have to power through it until it feels good. “Just write anything until you get into it.” And I say… eh. Ehhhh. 

it might help some, nothing wrong with that, it’s good and fine; but I personally *hate* it because I get really finicky with stuff. When it doesn’t feel good, it doesn’t feel good. I can’t get over that. It has to click from the beginning. if you’re like me: don’t force it at that point. delete what you’ve done and try anew (following tips). if it still doesn’t work, try twice, thrice, four and maybe five times but after that I’d just stop it. write the idea down somewhere and let it be for a while.

If you are not like me and you can “write through it” then even better. Write through it.

next tip: try starting with dialogue, aka an abrupt start. if you have started with dialogue, try starting with a normal paragraph. still, try to start with an action. Someone puts their glass down decisively; Someone twists around because of something.

If you want to start with a dialogue; change what is said. Change who says something. change anything and everything, maybe you’ll suddenly hit gold.

next tip: if you find yourself constantly stuck, try being abrupt. Don’t give so much exposition. Let explanations flow in or give them in small flashbacks. don’t make it so hard on yourself. you don’t have to describe every single action/every single shingle on the house.

so my tips are: be abrupt. it helps me most of the time. I’ve been writing porn for … three or four years now. I can’t write them meeting up and getting slowly jiggy with it and the preparation and whatnot each and every time, I would simply get bored. I could copy-paste that shit from one thing to the next. 

Sometimes in order to get going you’ll just have to trust that your readers are open enough to just let you take ‘em.

(also, and not to sound mean rn, sometimes less is more. sometimes people don’t have to read for the millionth time about how he put one, two, three fingers in that hole and then his dick.
