yes hello i am here to tell you of my omegaverse mchanzo garbage. McCree is the chillest Alpha out there and has never really looked for a mate. In comes Hanzo, who seems to lack a scent, which baffles McCree. He figures he’s some Beta, and calls him such. Hanzo nevers corrects him so he assume it to be true. 1/6

Months after meeting McCree notices that Hanzo behaves a bit differently than most Betas. He seems to be able to smell scents, is particularly wary of his personal space (even accidentally brushing up against him could lead to you having an arrow in your chest) , and seems to always be on a bit of an edge around alphas. McCree isn’t too suspicious until Hanzo is gone for a week without explanation. 2/6

McCree asks around and no one really knows where Hanzo’s gone until Mercy gives a small excuse of “recommended time off” before shooing him away. When he hears Hanzo is back he goes to his room to see him when he stumbles upon Hanzo applying some sort of cologne. McCree is all like ‘I didnt realize you wore cologne’ before taking a deep breath and realizing it /smells like nothing/. That’s not cologne. That’s a scent blocker. 3/6

Hanzo then starts explaining that he is actually an Omega, but the Shimada clan had always found Beta’s to be best suited for ruling position. Alphas were seen as too brash and loud and easily swayed by instincts. Omegas were too emotional and dependent, but could be taught to “behave properly”. Hanzo learned to hide his being an Omega the moment he presented. 4/6

McCree is of course worried because that’s not healthy for the soul let alone the body. Hanzo agrees that it’s bs but he’s lived like a Beta his whole life so he’s not ready to just drop everything and start “acting like an omega”. McCree is totally supportive and still refers to him as a Beta and slowly Hanzo starts to allow himself to do little Omega things like scent McCree and apply less of the scent blocker. 5/6

Hanzo never “fits” the average omega definition even years later but heck McCree is still head over heels in love and wants Hanzo to be his mate. He asks and Hanzo agrees and it’s Great. McCree just loves his Beta/Omega mate so much and Hanzo is relieved he can be an Omega because even though he doesn’t feel like one it’s nice to not have to completely shut it out and they live happily ever after the end 6/6

especially Hanzo doing little sweet Omega-type things with McCree and enjoying that he doesn’t have to be one way or another. He can do what feels right and McCree laps it up either way x.x hnnnnngh
