The werewolves are probably all awere of who else is, but there are so many sorts of shapeshifters that /anything/ seems more likely for the doe eyed farmboy than “Giant slobbering wolf that can’t control himself” to anyone else. If making Jack snap wasn’t Gabe’s intention in the first place, getting a sharp kick to the calve would probably be the thing to bring Jack out of it. Cue blushing, upset, horribly apologetic-maybe-tearing up Sunshine, & honestly Gabe is embarrassed FOR him

(2/2) especially because that kick has Jack /bleeding/ and his leg might actually be broken, Gabe wasn’t holding back. Jack doesn’t even notice, hell it might even be healing already, but Gabe is still in awe that Jack hasn’t /shut the hell up/, won’t stop apologizing, maybe hasn’t even taken another breath since the yelp of pain that came from the kick.
