Hey, may I ask you some questions about the business side of the compilations? I’m curious about getting into it since I finally have a big enough following and I’m getting requests for commissions. What program do you use? How do you price yourself? Would you say you make pocket change out of this? What program do you use for live writes? (Sorry for the bombardment, feel free to ignore! I’ve just never done this before so I’m looking for first hand experience info)

I write everything in google docs; I download them as epub files and modify them (adding a cover; adding bookmarks etc) via calibre.

Edit: oh and the PDFs are done by a good friend of mine who has a lot of knowhow in those kinds of things

I just thought that one dollar per story would be nice and make it reasonably priced so people would be able to afford it without needing to feel bad or start to scrunch up money too badly.

I’d say I make more money than I thought I would, which is just very humbling and makes me very thankful (esp since I am moving and that shit is expensive).

I use google docs for live-writes as well. just put in the link to the file so people can enter it, though I make sure to ‘only’ let them commentate and not write around in it
