it always depends on what you want to do. Do you want to write a loving scene (maybe in midst of a long fic), or do you want to write a smut fic?
For pure smut fics: – try to leave out descriptions of how they undress, or how they prepare each other (unless you want to go into detail about the preparation which in itself can be hot but only if you spend time with it.) All or nothing, basically. long winded descriptions of them undressing is super boring and difficult to write. half-assed preparation stuff is also annoying to write because you and everybody else have read it a million times in fics. it is sufficient to somehow mention it in a side sentence or not at all.
– if you realize it’s starting to get boring, don’t keep writing and assess the situation. What is boring. The position? The dialogue? The location?
– In that regard: sometimes it also helps to make a fullstop and gloss over stuff to just have them in the position/the place you want after that short jump. (I indicate them with .o. if it’s a short thing and .oOo. if it`s a long thing… tho I don’t think people have noticed aölskjfaöslkfj I dunno)
– if it’s the dialogue: try getting raunchy. use them dirty words. let them make other noises other than moaning. sex is a pretty animalistic and disgusting thing most of the times, don’t shy away from it :3c
– pace yourself. it is easy to forget because writing takes a long time and the happenings in the fic don’t. before you let them make pleasure noises, take a step back and focus on where in the action they are. You might have taken 2 hours to get to that part, but in the story the characters have just begun. You are def ahead of them. Nobody starts moaning because somebody just shoved a hand down their pants. If you pace yourself, it is more rewarding and exciting for you when they finally do get to make noises and start to get messy and needy.
