Cis swaps are a weird can of worms. Some people say they’re transphobic and sexist bc the gender swapping always happens between the male-female binary and the characters created enforce gender stereotypes? That’s the explanation I’ve heard. But I also know many trans people (binary and enby) who don’t see a problem at all and just think they’re a cool way of changing up a narrative or exploring a character in new ways. I agree with them tbh.

it’s just very tricky. people who don’t like stuff (anything, really) are very vocal about it, which is their right of course, but they also tend to overgeneralize things to the point where ‘if I don’t like it, others surely do not like it as well!’. 

It`s also super difficult to stay up to date with any kind of discourse, especially when you’re not part of it exactly and only see things from the side lines.

I feel like if I tag accordingly, and give an explicit warning beforehand, it should probably be alright for those who want to avoid it. I hope so at least
