Hey there! So I’m not caught up in the manga, but I was curious, does Endeavor get like a redemption ark or something? I’ve noticed a ton of people really like him now. I couldn’t get behind him from his actions in the beginning, does he get… less awful towards Todoroki? Or is it less of a “I support you” and more of a thirst “yes daddy plz” (which I get. He got them tiddie) (also not to say either is bad! Like who you like for any reason! I just wanted to know if he had development)

that’s a difficult question tbh… I personally always really liked him because he’s such a thicc bara daddy but his little arc now has def made me like him even more.

Spoilers ahead/under the cut

It is not a redemption arc per-se but he gets a lot more to do than just obsess over his son so you get to see that he actually really is a hero; that he takes his job seriously and he wants to help people. It’s not just him having a huge ego and wanting to be the #1. In many aspects he’s a lot like Bakugo? Like… I could absolutely see Bakugo becoming like him.

His obsession with AllMight/surpassing AllMight gets shown and while it is not an excuse for what he did to a child, or even an adequate explanation, it still makes him a lot more sympathetic in my eyes. Just… very human?

in any case, to be even a bit more specific:

He fights a huge threat and it is shown on national TV. He’s very close to actually dying (he gets fucked. up) and it is shown that Shoto is very concerned about the prospect of losing his father, so… there still has to be something. There must be something that still hasn’t made him into a complete monster in Shoto’s eyes which I find super intriguing. Maybe there were rare occasions where he pulled small Shoto to his big bara chest and hugged him or had a good fatherly talk? I don’t think this is just a child instinctively being concerned for a parent. Shoto does not seem the type for that.

In any case, we do also see Endeavor struggle with his past. He realizes what he’s done is fucked up but he’s also too emotionally closed off to like do a 180 turn and be AllMight #2. It’s just not who he is, his personality is not suited to it.

He does take a huge scar from the battle and everybody has been cheering him on (fucking yes) and there are scenes where it’s shown that he still sends his wife’s favorite flowers to her into the clinic and he does try a very awkward apology towards Shoto and stuff like that…

The Endeavor arc has just all in all been super super tasty and good for him and I can’t wait for it to be on TV D:

(Also his dynamic with Hawks who has been introduced shortly before the arc is… super tasty)
